Kathleen "Kate" Griffin
Kathleen has over 17 years experience as a counselor at schools in the Greater Los Angeles area encouraging first generation college bound students, 5 years as an Independent Educational Consultant in Los Angeles and Seattle and was an adjunct Professor at Loyola Marymount University’s graduate counseling program.
Kathleen has successfully guided hundreds of students through the college search and application process.
A graduate of St. John’s University New York, Kathleen, the founder and President of American College Strategies, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education, trained in UCLA’s College Counseling program, and holds a Masters in Counseling from Loyola Marymount University. Additional training in the Independent Educational Consultants Association’s Summer Institute at Swarthmore College as well as frequent ongoing travel to colleges across the United States has amplified her expertise and keen knowledge of current practices in college admissions.
Kathleen is a member of the following professional organizations:

• Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA)
• Seattle Area College Consultants (SACC)
Kathleen is also member of Kappa Delta Pi (International Honor Society in Education) and is a life member of Sandpipers, a Southern California philanthropic association.
